Searching the Logbook

To search the logbook click on the 'Record™' button in the Module Bar and to go into the Logbook list screen.

There are three ways of searching for data in Record™.

Quick Search

By default Record™ will offer a keyword search in the Database Area. Simply enter the keyword that you want to search for and click 'Go'.


The search results will be shown in the list and a summary of the search will be shown at the bottom of the window. The keyword search will search all fields in the log for a partial match.

Clicking elements in the Inventory Menu will filter the search to find search matches for the selected element.

Tip: Click the 'X' button to clear the search.

Field Search

Record™ also provides a facilty to search on a key field. Click on the 'Search' menu in the Database Area and a list of fields that you can search on will be displayed in a popup menu.


Select the field that you want to search for. Enter the criteria you are searching for in the adjacent field and then click 'Go'.

The search results will be shown in the list and a summary of the search will be shown at the bottom of the window. The search will find any partial matches in the selected field.

Clicking elements in the Inventory Menu will filter the search to find search matches for the selected element.

Tip: Click the 'X' button to clear the search.

Advanced Search

Record™ also provides a much more advanced way of searching. Click on the 'Search' menu in the Database Area and select 'Advanced' from the popup menu.


This will bring up a new window that will shows all the fields that you can search on.

The 'Keyword', 'Event' and 'Entered By' fields allows searching using 'All', 'Contains', 'Does not contain', 'Is equal to' and 'Is not equal to'.

The 'Event Date' field allows for single dates and date ranges to be specified.

Record™ by default hides deleted records. To show these records ensure that the 'Show Deleted' checkbox it ticked.

Click 'Search' to perform the search or 'Cancel' to close the window.

The search results will be shown in the list and a summary of the search will be shown at the bottom of the window. The search will find any partial matches in the selected field.

After performing an Advanced search, clicking on the search field will bring up the 'Advanced Search' window again. Select 'Keyword' from the 'Search' menu to revert the search back to its default behaviour.
