Server Preferences - PerformanceAcquire™'s performance can be adjusted to tweak a bit more performance out of the server.
The default performance settings shares the PC box nicely with other applications and share performance with them. This is useful when running a browser for instance on the same machine. If Acquire™ has the server PC to itself then it might as well take all of the available processor. With 'High Priority' selected Acquire™ will take all available processor and will cause the machine to run in 100% CPU useage. This is not necessarily a bad thing as Acquire™ will be able to respond to its own database events much quicker eg modbus polls will be noticeably faster etc. As with all things there will be a trade off - other applications will be noticeably slower! To revert Acquire™ to its default settings click 'Medium Priority'. |
