Text Properties

There are four types of text cells in Acquire™: 'First Field', 'Tags', 'Totals' and 'Custom Text'. Text cells can be added to the P&ID by dragging them from the Device Pallet.

To manually assign a device to a tag or value, either right click on the tag or first field value and select 'Edit Text Cell' from the contextual menu or select the tag or first field value and choose 'Edit Cell' from the 'P&ID' menu.

The 'Text Box Properties' window displays a complete list of all devices that are on the P&ID with the currently selected device highlighted. To choose a different device select it from the list and click 'OK'.

Enter the name to be displayed and choose the font, font size and font style. To choose the font colour click on the colour box to bring up the colour wheel. Specify the text alignment using the 'Alignment' pull-down menu.

First Fields

'First Field' cells are text cells that are associated with a device. They display the values and units from the first field in the sidebar for the selected device. Moving a 'First Field' cell automatically attaches the cell to any device that is in close proximity to the new location.

To select a different device double click on the 'First Field' cell and choose the device from the list of devices.

Totals

'Total' fields are similar to first fields except that have their own Device Sidebar. They display the value and units from the first field in their own sidebar. 'Total' cells can have more than one field in their sidebar and can include charts.

Tags

'Tag' fields are associated with a device. They display the tag name that the device has been given. Moving a 'Tag' cell automatically attaches the cell to any device in close proximity to the new location. To select a different device, double click on the 'Tag' cell and choose the device from the list of devices.

To change the tag name, double click on the device with which the tag field is associated and enter the new tag name in the Device Properties window.

Custom Text

Acquire™ allows custom text to be entered anywhere on the P&ID. To add custom text drag the 'Custom Text' icon from the Device Pallet to display the Text Box Properties window. To edit the custom text double click on the text box on the P&ID.
