Getting Started

Installation

To install Acquire™ insert the CD and run the installer.

This will copy Acquire™ on to the C:\Acquire folder. Ambrit would recommend that the default path is kept as it makes troubleshooting the system much easier.

If you are upgrading from Acquire™ version 2.2 or lower you will see the Convert Database window. Click 'Convert' to proceed to the next stage of the installation process.

Warning: Once your data is converted you will not be able to open your data with Acquire 2.2 or earlier versions.

Installing the Key

Once the software has been installed, you will need to install a key. This key file is available from either Ambrit Ltd or Omni.

Run Acquire™ by double clicking on the Acquire.EXE application. If Acquire™ does not have a key installed you will be asked to install a key.

If you do not have a key and would like to request a key:

  • Click the 'Request Key' Button

If you already have a key to install:

  • Click the 'Select Key' Button

Registration

The first time that you run Acquire™ it will ask you to register your application and prompt for a registration code which you must obtain from either Ambrit Ltd or Omni.

 

The registration code is set against the machine and the key. If Acquire™ is moved to another computer a new registration code is required.

When the registration code has been entered you will be taken into Acquire™.

The first thing that Acquire™ will do is setup the first station.
