Charts

Acquire™ can plot up to six data points on the chart a time based line chart. Data is collected at regular intervals and added to the chart area. Whereas the Snapshot on the P&ID only shows data for the last 10 minutes, the charts on the data screens can show data for long time periods.

The chart is only available on the '2 Data Columns with Chart' screen type.

Adding Values to the Chart

To add a value onto the chart:

  • Double click on a field to open the Field Properties window.
  • Click the 'Show On Chart' checkbox.
  • Select a colour for the pen.
  • The value will be plotted when the data screen is saved.

Note: There is only one y axis available, so plotting values with wildly different scales will use the scale of the highest value. Also the chart is always zero based but does automatically scale the chart to plot the highest value.

To view data on the chart for an earlier or later time period:

  • Scroll the timeline left and right accordingly. The grey bar displays the date.
  • OR

  • Select a date from the pull-down menu:
  • Select "Latest Data" from the pull-down menu to keep the chart updating with the most current chart data.

To zoom in to the chart:

  • Click the button.

To zoom out of the chart:

  • Click the button.

To print the current chart view to the local Acquire™ printer:

  • Click the button.

Tip: Charting too much data can cause performance problems. Acquire™ caches the most recent chart values to improve responsiveness. The size of the cache can be modified in the Server Preferences.
